Fish Kofta Curry

Ingredients
White fish fillets – 1 kg
Onions – 3 medium sized
Bay leaf – 1
Coriander seeds – 1 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
 Garlic – 1 clove
Ginger  – 1 inch
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Chopped tomato – 250 gm
Green chillies -2
Coriander leaves – ¼ cup
Fresh bread crumbs – 2 tbl.sp
Egg -1
Ghee or butter – 250 gm
Water – 300 ml

Method
In a pan, put fish with little water, half chopped onion, bay leaf. Cook till tender, remove, strain and keep the liquid aside.
In a bowl, mash fish fillets, green chillies (seeds removed) coriander, eggs and bread crumbs. Mix this well and make small balls. Heat ghee in a frying pan, add this fish koftas, and fry on a medium heat until cooked and drain and keep aside.
Chop 1 ½ onions and mix with garlic, coriander, cumin, turmeric, chilli and ginger to blend to a paste. Slice remaining onion. Heat ghee in a frying pan, sauté onion and then add the paste. Then add tomatoes and cook till tomatoes are pulpy. Add the strained liquid from the fish and 300 ml water and bring it to boil. Add the fish koftas and cook on a low flame for ten minutes.
